1989 FOR THE LOVE OF FURNITURE AND INDONESIA

The bond with Indonesia is the origin of J&E. The Goudkuil family lived there for a while in the late 1980s. Back in the Netherlands, father Jan and son Edmar decided to import the beautiful teak furniture that is so characteristic of Indonesia. J&E was born out of love for the country and the furniture industry. Almost 30 years later, that love still forms an important basis for our working method. Not only do we have our own factory in Semarang and a woodworking company in Jepara, but we also provide housing, training and healthcare for our employees. We also work with many local suppliers. We exchange knowledge and experience and continually develop new products. From classic to modern, with a sleek or rugged look. And from series in different types of teak wood to unique products and customization. Because teak fits into any interior style.

The service of a traditional Dutch family business combined with the warm hospitality of Indonesia. That's us: J&E Teak Furniture. In our factory in Jepara we make furniture for and by people with a love for quality and atmosphere. From series in different types of teak wood to unique products and customization. We only use recycled teak and plantation teak. Because we stand for sustainability in every respect. This is also reflected in the close relationships with customers, suppliers and employees – in the Netherlands and Indonesia. Quality goes hand in hand with a personal and committed approach.

J&E's teak furniture is made exclusively from plantation teak or recycled teak, for example from old furniture or beams from homes. So you are assured of an honest product that will last for many years.

We also invest in sustainability in other ways.

For example, we support two orphanages in Semarang, a home for blind children in Bali and a shelter for street children in Jakarta. Because if we feel so at home in Indonesia, we can give the people there a helping hand.

In the Netherlands, J&E, which started with a container in the garden, grew into a trading warehouse of more than 8,000 M2 on the A50 near Heteren. Here you will find an extensive range of teak furniture in stock. Of course, our organization grew along with it, but we have retained the atmosphere of our family business.

Our compact, friendly team stands for short lines and good service. We check every order; no box leaves our warehouse unopened. The short lines, both in the Netherlands and Indonesia, provide the necessary flexibility.
